The Sheridan High School Ocksheperida apologizes for a serious error in the article entitled “Drunk driving accidents increase in spring” in our May 17 issue. Within the article, guidance counselor Becky Leno is quoted as saying, “If students do decide to experiment with illicit substances, I hope that they would do so in a safe way.” Ms Leno did not make this statement, thus it is a misquote and a mistake. It was never the intention of Ms. Leno to condone drug use. Sheridan High School and Leno condemn the use of drugs and the underage use of alcohol. Both parties want to ensure that all students are safe during this season of celebration. Staff of the Ock sincerely apologize for this error to Ms. Leno, Sheridan High School, and our community readership.
