Larry Martoglio continues to coach the Varsity Golf teams in both the fall and spring, this year he takes over as the assistant Freshmen Boys basketball coach.

Veteran SHS golf coach and P.E. teacher Larry Martoglio has been named as a 2012 inductee into the Wyoming Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
“I’d like to thank Sheridan County School District #2, all the coaches I’ve worked with, and the student athletes of Sheridan, and their parents for making this honor possible,” Martoglio said.
Martoglio began his coaching career in 1976 as a football and basketball coach at Sheridan Junior High School. He went on to be the head basketball coach of the Broncs from 1991 to 1997, and then the girls’ assistant basketball coach from 1999 to 2011. Martoglio has also had a big influence with Sheridan American Legion baseball serving in the past as the head coach for both the Troopers and the Jets.
He is currently the head coach of the Broncs and Lady Broncs golf teams. He has had a lot of success in his years of coaching this sport. He coached his teams to four state titles. The boys team won three of these, and the girls won their only title in 2006.
“He is a great coach and makes every player want to perform their very best every tournament,” said Senior Ben Wollenzien.
Martoglio said, “1984 was the initial year for the Wyoming Coaches Association Hall of Fame. A charter member that year included my dad, Shad Martoglio, so it’s nice to join him in the Hall of Fame.”
