Tennis finishes in top five at state

It may be one thing to win on an individual level or set personal records, but the Sheridan Bronc Tennis team broke the scale with both the boys and girls’ team finishing in the top 5 spots at state.

With the boys being lead by senior Reed Ritterbusch, they took 3rd as a team while Ritterbusch himself took 2nd in the state. Also, Sheridan’s own Adam Berry took 3rd in the state, improving from the previous season when he lost to Kelly Walsh settling for 4th place.

On the girl’s side of the team, last year’s State Champion Julia Fenn stood and protected her ground as she once again took the championship. As a sophomore, Fenn took 1st place only losing two games along the way. “It is such an amazing feeling knowing that all your hard work has paid off. It was a great season but I’m eager to get back on the court and keep improving my game for next year” said Fenn. She also added that she plans on continuing her hard work in order to potentially win state all four of her high school years in a row. “All I can really be is confident, and knowing that I will keep trying to improve and come into each season and every match prepared and ready to take on whatever comes my way.”

State tennis took place in Gillette with the finals taking place in the indoor tennis courts. The girls took 5th with boys finishing 3rd in state.
