Cody Williams shoots a jump shot against Green River early this season.

With the latest games against Riverton, Kelly Walsh, and Evanston, the Broncs basketball team went 2 and 1. With the Broncs coming up short against Kelly Walsh with the final score 50 to 73, they fought back and got a win against Evanston 56 to 44. Fighting hard against Riverton, the Broncs pulled through with the final score of 54 to 51. After leaving the comfort of home and participating in two tournaments, the Broncs will play Billings Skyview and Natrona County this weekend before the conference schedule begins. Senior Reed Ritterbusch said, “The team is doing really well compared to last year and I can’t wait to see what happens at state.”

At the Flaming Gorge Invitational before Christmas break, the Broncs played three more games against two Utah foes and Rock Springs. They fought hard against a tough team in Vernal, Utah but came up short with the final score of Sheridan 54 and Vernal, Utah 64. But the Broncs rallied back and came up with two wins. The second game was against Rock Springs with the Broncs 77 and Rock Springs 66. Much like the previous game against Rock Springs, the Broncs got a impressive win over Union, Utah 78 to 71.

Junior Kris Clark said, “Coach told us that were really going to hate him this week during practice.” The team will be working on defense and rebounding so that they can play better the rest of the season.
