SHS offers exciting new changes to Homecoming 2013

This year, SHS is decorating each hallway specific to a sport.

Homecoming week will be the week of Sep. 23 through 28 Sheridan High School.

Monday, Sept. 23 will be Ugly Sweater Day. This day will have no event after school, allowing the students to prepare for the busy week ahead.

Tuesday, Sept. 24 will be Construction Day. He-man volleyball is the event of this day, and all boys are encouraged to participate after turning in their permission slips to the library. The games begin at 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 25 will be Tourist Day. Powderpuff Football will take place on the Football Field at 7 p.m. All girls participating will be required to turn in their permission slips.

Thursday, Sept. 26 will be Star Wars Day; a new dress up day for SHS. Student Council will be hosting the second annual burning of the bronc head at Grinnell Plaza. The burning of the bronc will be commenced to recognize Fall sports players, their coaches, and fans. Clubs from SHS that will be participating are Spanish club, history club, cheerleading, and the Pep Band. Concessions, snow cones, little guy cheerleading, and the climbing wall are a few of the activities provided for the students.

Friday, Sept. 27 will be Blue and Gold Day. The football game will take place at 7 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 28 will be the night of the dance. Students are required to pay $5 for admission. The dance begins at 8 and ends at 11.

Student council is expecting a large turn out for all events. “Homecoming is what you make it,” says Student Body President Tyler Julian. All students are encouraged to participate in all events, even if that means just cheering friends on. Help SHS celebrate fall sports. Go Broncs!
